Professor Henry Chesbrough has taught at UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business for 16 years, and taught at Harvard Business School for 6 years before that. He was recently named the inaugural Maire Tecnimont Professor of Open Innovation at LUISS University in Rome. He is known as “the father of open innovation”, for his pathbreaking work on new models of industrial innovation that culminated in his award-winning book in 2003, Open Innovation. The author of seven business and management books, Chesbrough founded and organizes two external groups of companies that each meet twice a year to discuss challenges in managing innovation: the Berkeley Innovation Forum (40 member companies) and the European Innovation Forum (20 member companies). He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of California-Berkeley, an MBA from Stanford University, and a BA from Yale University, summa cum laude.
